Mr. Takanori Kitamura, the Japanese Ambassador to Greece, visited today the Minister of Public Order, Mr. Vyron Polydoras, in his office at the Ministry of Public Order. The meeting attended also the Chief of the Hellenic Police Force, Police Lieutenant General, Anastassios Dimoshakis.

This is an etiquette meeting, organized on the occasion of Mr. Takanori Kitamura assuming his new duties one week ago as the Japanese Ambassador to Greece.

The discussions mainly focused on the very good relations between the two countries and the will to pursue and develop them to the highest possible level. More precisely, they focused on three main issues:

The possibility to start talks on the signature of a Police Cooperation Agreement by the two countries on issues of mutual interest.
The promotion of Greece to Japan in terms of tourist destination, given the fact that Greece is one of the safest countries in the world.
The Japanese Ambassador underlined the fact that Greece offers excellent security to Japanese tourists, which is one of the factors that make our country a significant tourist destination.

The cooperation between the Hellenic Police Force and the Japanese company TOPAN, which supplied the Hellenic Police Force Passport Division with the Hellenic Passports Issuing Machines.
Last but not least, the Japanese Ambassador praised the writings of the Minister of Public Order, Mr. Vyron Polydoras, and in particular, his book under the title 'Bousido, the Code of Samurai', and asked the Minister to provide him with English versions of the book in order to send them to Ambassadors of other countries.

It should be noted that the Minister of Public Order, Mr. Vyron Polydoras, is the first Greek top-ranking officer that the Japanese Ambassador has visited since the beginning of his mandate.
