Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. P. Doukas held Interesting discussions with the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Takanori Kitamura, on Wednesday, 7 November 2007, during a dinner held at the Japanese Embassy in Athens.

At the meeting they noted the increasing interest of Japanese banks and insurance funds in the Athens Stock Exchange as well as the increase in Greek exports to the Japanese market, beyond agricultural products, of brand-name Greek products.

In particular the Japanese Ambassador expressed to the Deputy Foreign Minister the interest of Japanese architects in visiting our country for a series of presentations, speeches and collaborations with regard to the new architecture, as well as interest in Greek architects visiting Japan.

Specifically with regard to  this field they discussed ways to promoted cooperation and exchanges between universities, as well as the organization of medical conferences with the participation of Greek and Japanese scientists. Finally, there was particular interest in the presence and participation of Greek fashion designers in the Fashion Week event in Tokyo.
